A trusted friend
A commitment to safety
Last year, we transported over 6540 students safely to and from our schools. We travel approximately 5,886 miles per day and over 1,059,480 miles per year.  This number does include the hundreds of field trips and athletic trips taken around the region and state.  In order to accomplish this we have a fleet of 75 buses, maintained by three mechanics.
Crown Point Community Schools Transportation Department provides training in all areas of student transportation, including management, safety, routing, defensive driving, maintenance, assertive discipline, and driver training.
Before hiring a new bus driver, we provide the following in addition to the state's requirements:
  • a minimum of 40 hours training which includes both classroom and behind the wheel training
  • pre-employment drug testing
  • criminal history record check
  • motor vehicle record check
