What is Child Find?
 
Child Find is a program to identify, locate and evaluate all children who are suspected of having a disability.
 
Identification and Evaluation
  • Referral - Contact your child's school or the Department for Exceptional Learner’s  at (219) 663-4330
  • Screening
  • Permission for Testing
  • Educational Evaluation
  • Case Conference Committee Meeting - A meeting is convened by the school to discuss the results of testing, to review the student's eligibility for special education service, and to develop an individualized education program (IEP).
